Description

The redevelopment of One Palace Street involves six existing buildings which together form an urban block addressing Buckingham Gate, Palace Street and Stafford Place. The site lies directly to the south of Buckingham Palace within the Birdcage Walk Conservation Area, and two of the buildings are Grade II listed.

An existing 1980s block on Palace Street will be demolished and replaced with a refined Portland Stone and bronze building, designed to knit together the retained facades of the existing buildings. The two listed buildings will be meticulously restored internally to reinstate original features, and introduce new interior elements which complement the existing historical building fabric.
